How it works

Any business with a local physical presence that is not a chain store can create a free online profile.

For between $30 and $150 per month, businesses can upgrade their profile to activate an online store, email marketing system and social post scheduling, as well as a number of other features. They also have the ability to link to their website, show up ahead of competitors, and get listed in more categories.

For between $200 and $400 per month, businesses receive a dedicated account manager who gets to know their business and proactively helps them connect with customers online.

In addition to being able to update their profile, social profiles and partner profiles, businesses can also update their own websites using the same control panel by embedding two lines of code onto their existing site, or by purchasing a QuickSite responsive website for $499.

It's proven to be a winning model, with more than 250 businesses subscribing to premium packages and a customer retention rate above 95% for several years.

This usage has translated into a great revenue success story with more than a quarter million dollars in annual recurring revenue.

The Local Hub storefront

This revenue has enabled us to secure a prominent downtown storefront location called the Hub, which used to be home to a community bank. Inside, we've furnished the space with some cool workshop tables made from reclaimed bowling alley laneways and tons of technology, including iPads mounted on the walls, powerered by the free wifi network we've made available throughout downtown.

We use the Hub to host workshops on technology and also open the building up to use by community groups.

This presence has cemented our place in the community and drives significant walk-in business and group sales opportunities that are really exciting for everyone.

Strengthening the local economy

The ultimate goal is to create a stronger local economy, and by adding to the culture of support for local business, and facilitating commerce between shoppers and providers, we are seeing tangible success that people are talking about. can help you do the same thing in your community.
